Õ¬Äи£Àû

Dr. Omar X. Rivera Morales joined the SECCM faculty at Õ¬Äи£Àû in Fall 2023, bringing a deep expertise in hardware accelerators for machine learning, parallel processing, and high-performance computation. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Rhode Island in 2022, following his M.S. in Computer Engineering (2009) and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Puerto Rico.

In addition to his role at Õ¬Äи£Àû, Dr. Rivera serves as the Branch Head of the Systems Engineering branch at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (US NAVY), where he leverages over 15 years of experience in the defense industry. His work encompasses R&D, defense acquisition projects, system testing and integration, embedded systems programming, and leading research as a principal investigator.

At Õ¬Äи£Àû, Dr. Rivera teaches COMSC110L - Introduction to Computer Science (Lab) and COMSC230 - Fundamentals of Programming Languages.
